1. PUBLIC FORUMS
The Student Technology Fund Committee is responsible for stewarding over $4M in Student Technology Fee (STF) monies collected from all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students annually. Public forums give students, who are paying into the STF, the opportunity to contribute to decision making by, and to ask questions of, the student-majority STF Committee.
Monday, February 24th, 2020, 5:20 - 9:00 pm in ASUC Senate Chambers, 5th floor, Eshleman Hall
Join this public forum to learn what software contracts STF currently supports with student fee dollars, how much students use that software, and what value -- latent or actualized -- exists for students' use of Adobe, Microsoft Office, and LinkedIn Learning. Presenters will be STF, UC Berkeley IT staff, and representatives from each of the vendors named above. Please join as STF determines how to use student fees to negotiate new or renewed software contracts at scale for all students.
Agenda and event primer. Livestream. Facebook event.
Monday, April 13th, 2020, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm online only
**Note: Unlike all other listings on this page, this is not an STF-organized event.**
This forum, organized by the Referendum Renewal Exploration Group, (RREG), will discuss the infrastructure needed to support student technology at UCB. RREG is a collection of students that are exploring the present and potential future models of the Student Technology Fund, which will be up for renewal in Spring 2021. Some topics for discussion include WiFi, student help desk, course capture, and administration of software licenses.
