Project Description: Human Powered Vehicle is an efficient two-wheel recumbent bicycle with a carbon-fiber shell, minimizing wind drag velocity loss. The goal is to reach speeds otherwise impossible with only human power: 70mph. The carbon fiber shells are created from two expensive foam molds. Funds were granted to purchase these ~$2000 molds, and hopefully make multiple iterations. In addition, human powered vehicle utilizes cutting-edge bike parts such as internal hubs, derailleurs, and cadence sensors to optimize performance.
